Puerto Angel and Zipolite

It was long day’s ride south from Oaxaca to Puerto Angel and Zipolite. The road through the mountains must be the curviest we have ever done. It was absolutely stunning, but as always in Mexico we had watch out for donkeys, dogs, chickens, topes (speed bump), cows, goats etc in our paths.

Coming down from the mountains was like descending into a sauna. We pitched the tent just before dark and, after a cold Indio beer and a bit of stargazing, we were ready for bed (in the steamy tent) by 8 pm.

Zipolite has a very laid-back feel. A great place to chill out. It’s definitely on our list of places to return to one day.
